Leroy Ellington Delivers The Goods With “3 Easy Payments”

It was a week before Christmas, and all through the house, no one was stirring but mama with her mouse.

Leroy Ellington Writes About Real Life Issues In New Song

Out Just In Time For Your Holiday Shopping Woes

“3 Easy Payments”

As the holidays get ready to blast off, we all will be huddling around the TV for football games, Hallmark movies, and other binges that we get sucked into while sipping eggnog. But the most entertaining one-minute vignettes are those late-night infomercials that beg us to pay attention – “but there’s more!” And while we all giggle about them, there is some truth to the serious buyers out there that are “experts” on the sport.

Take, for instance, Leroy Ellington’s real-life song about his wife’s shopping skills called “3 Easy Payments” this song took 15 minutes to write and it rates 11 on the Holiday-Laughing-Meter.

“Look what I got! It’s only 3 Easy Payments of $49.99!”

“These are words that my wife has said to me a thousand times. It started out with me coming home from my gig, to find her on the couch with a note pad and watching The Home Shopping Network or QVC. Then it seemed like every few days a package would come in the mail with the latest gadget she purchased, maybe it was battery operated closet lights or a powered screwdriver set,” Leroy explains with a laughing smile. “It was always something we didn’t need and would never pay $150 for was suddenly a “good deal” because we got it for “3 Easy Payments!”

Recorded live with his band, The Sacred Hearts in various venues around Cincinnati, you can hear the audience respond to Leroy with laughter and applause due to the reality factor of the sentiment. The Sacred Hearts are some of The Queen City’s most prominent musicians: Leroy Ellington on lead vocals and saxophone, Mike Grosser on bass guitar, Marcos Sastre on guitar and vocals, Charlie Fletcher on keyboards and vocals, Max Gise on guitar and Josh Parker on drums and vocals. This band delivers the best in blues and soul music around!

Over the years, Leroy has been very active within the Cincinnati entertainment community with his production company Leroy Ellington Productions (L.E.P.), promoting shows and special events. He was handpicked to take over the existing Johnny Schott Talent & Events when the beloved Schott died in 2012, giving him full ownership. Most recently, he has started his label, Infiniti Group Records that will release Leroy’s new album, Live And Kickin’ It out on February 28, 2020, which will include the song, “3 Easy Payments” for sure. This label will have full distribution through Clay Pasternack Inc. and a boutique promotional team headed by Gina Hughes of The Galaxie Agency and partner of the label.

“Fast forward to 2019, and the new thing is Amazon Prime, but the “3 Easy Payments” still applies. She’s STILL buying things we don’t need, STILL buying on “3 Easy Payments” and STILL saving me money!”

So, take a minute to read the lyrics and listen to the song, I am sure it will give you a side stomach cramp! “3 Easy Payments”

Written by Leroy Ellington (ASCAP) – 2019

She had QVC

On TV

Now she’s all about prime

She’s upset

Ain’t nothing left

Now she’s buying on time

Can’t let it be

She’s killing me

I’m Goin’ outta my mind

She can shop at home

From her telephone

She can buy online

Things we don’t need

Free delivery

Spendin’ my every dime

If it’s on sale

We Might as well

Just this one last time

3 easy payments

Is all she needs

3 easy payments

For eternity

3 easy payments

For the rest of my life

3 easy payments

That’s my wife

I Don’t know what’s gonna happen to me

When 3 easy payments get the best of me

She saves me dough

She told me so

Why would any woman lie?

With All I’ve saved – She’s

Rearranged – My

House and it’s just fine

New dining room

Paid in June

Love that credit line

3 easy payments

Is all she needs

3 easy payments

For eternity

3 easy payments

For the rest of my life

3 easy payments

That’s my wife

I Don’t know what’s gonna happen to me

When 3 easy payments get the best of me
